Lol . Through your lyrics you show the deeper , darker side of experience . You make yourself vulnerable , and open . No easy task . But , what is your lighter side like ? What do you do for fun ?
It is interesting that you mention vulnerability and openness , by nature I am generally quiet , fairly cruisy and pretty ordinary when it comes to being open with people . I certainly don ’ t make it easy for my mum to ask me how my day is going ! So music really is an opportunity for me to find my voice . I like to think I have a cheeky sense of humor which can be troublesome and I find that snowboarding is the most amazing and liberating activity in the entire planet ! I enjoy bingeing on TV shows , Australian Rules Footy ( go Blues !), and cricket . Oh , I haven ’ t mentioned history ! I love old stuff , cultures , towns , stories and I have a weird fondness with the English television show called Antiques Roadshow .
If you were to write a song about your happiest moment , what would that moment be ? Surely you ’ re not suggesting musicians can have happy moments ?? I am , indeed .
Ha ha ! I have been blessed with many happy moments and it ’ s very hard to pick one . I think collectively it would be about being grateful for all the support I ’ ve received . This is the support and help I ’ ve received from my family and friends when I was in a spiral that I couldn ’ t seem to get out of , and also for the continued support I get when things aren ' t so bad and there is highly positive things happening for my music .
What can we expect next from Mullen ? Any upcoming gigs ?
The next month we will be focused on the preparation and planning for releasing and supporting the launch of the music . The tour planning is coming along nicely and I look forward in announcing dates soon . There are videos to complete , singles and an album to release , so there is lots of exciting activity .
