Secret Cameras

Secret Cameras is a four piece indie/synthpop band out of London comprised of Itamar
Starets (Vocals, Guitars, Synths), Kristian (Guitars, Synths, Backing Vocals), Sam (Bass), and
Dimitris (Drums). Their music will have fans of Depeche Mode, Placebo, and White Lies
queuing for more.
The band, who have been together for a year and a half, first formed when Itmar met lead
guitarist Kristian through the website, Gumtree. Discovering they had similar taste in music,
they soon recruited drummer Dimitris and Bass player Sam, and Secret Cameras was born.
We were able to catch up with lead singer, Itmar, who sat down to talk with us about music,
inspiration, and life’s ups and downs.
Secret Cameras. That's such an unusual name. It makes me think of James Bond or that
secret's site, Whispers. How did that come about?
Well, to be honest, looking for band names is a nightmare. Kristian (lead guitarist) and I were
trying to come up with a name after completing the lineup. Kristian kept giving good names but
they were all taken until he said Secret Cameras. Sounded good and we checked and saw it
wasn't taken.
