• Give a briefing to the crew . Induct new crew to the boat and each other
• Shore power is unplugged , always unplug from the dock before the boat .
• Engines on ( See next page for engine on )
• Hatches dogged ( fastened ) but not locked
• Lifejackets , issued and ficed
• Food on board , fridge on and water filled ,
• Turn on the circuit breakers for , fresh water pump , fridge , VHF , instruments and electric toilets .
• GPS should be on and the VHF switched on . Carry out a radio check .
• Stow gear
• Head count ( Maximum of 14 people on board )
• Double check the weather
• Set lines to exit .
• Brief crew on the plan .
• Make sure you know where the shallow areas are so you do not run aground .
• Ager leaving , recheck hatches , door locks and stow fenders and mooring lines .
