• Shout “ man over board !”
• Assign a spocer , keep a torch on them if it is night 3me . Do not get out of sight of the person
• Bring the engines into neutral and secle boat , hit MOB bucon on GPS & send an urgency message
• Throw life rings
• Check for the person , on a motor boat you will ogen find them holding onto the boat s3ll .
• Motor past MOB and approach into the wind .
• Approach MOB at very slow speed
• Pick up on leeward side and recover MOB ensuring engine is in neutral when you are close to the person and switched off when you have contact
It is impera ) ve that the skipper has briefed and demonstrated how someone would be recovered on-board prior to this happening . The risks involved in recovering a person on to a motor vessel at sea are considerable and training must take place on this .
