Dry Fly Fishing – Caddis & Mayflies (#14 to 18) - concentrate your fishing on overcast days and low light conditions, primarily evening. Focus your hunt on subtle rise forms. Don’t aimlessly blind cast, rather, observe and be patient. Pick your target and place an accurate cast with good line control. Stoneflies & Hoppers – (#6 to #10) patterns that you can see well. These are the types of flies that you can search with and are ideal for adding a bead head dropper fly. Most of the time the closer to the bank your fly is, the better.

Streamer Fishing – we use a wide range of sizes on the Bow from small #10 leeches to #2 Articulated 5 inch long minnow patterns (6 to 8 wt rods). Try using a sink tip (either fly line or add on poly leader style) and fish it near the bottom. Retrieve speed can vary greatly so start fast to find aggressive fish then change to slower retrieves. Make sure your tippet is strong 10 to 15 pound test (1x or stronger) on the larger flies. If you are looking for a true trophy fish put in your time with a streamer and it will happen!
