After a streamer change based on nothing more than speculation and karma, I rolled a big fish from a beaver dam and felt that solid hit which never gets old. We were anxious to see our quarry, which stayed deep, but hopes for that trophy brown were dashed when we realized a pike was hooked. Streamer and tippet held, and we brought to net a battle scarred veteran; a fun reminder of the species diversity that exists in this portion of the Oldman river. It was a most pleasant day.
