Alberta Fishing Guide 2016 Mid-Summer Digital | Page 50

Brown trout have a reputation for being finicky, challenging fish. On the one hand, it’s true. Successful anglers must be dialled in with their approach, fly presentation, and interpretation of where a given trout will station relative to structure. On the other hand brown trout are like any other fish. They like to eat, and eat often. I can’t think of a style of fishing for browns in Alberta that gives the angler more of an upper hand than targeting fish around woody debris, particularly root balls and in-stream willows.
