Organic Emmer Wheat
• An ancient relative of wheat, was one of the first grains
domesticated in the Fertile Crescent of the Near East
• Planted with the hull on to maximize the seedling’s
natural development
• Should not be planted in deep rich soil, as it tends to
grow tall and lodge before harvest is possible
• Drill or broadcast 100 lbs/A, 1 in. deep early in the spring
• A big, rough seed and not all drills will plant it
• Though some food processors will accept hulled Emmer,
do not plant Emmer unless you have a processor lined up
to de-hull it for you
