SILAGE HYBRIDS
NEW Viking O.34-00LF
FLOURY, LEAFY SILAGE-
SPECIFIC CORN HYBRIDS
Viking floury, leafy corn silage hybrids have been
bred to meet the complex agronomic and nutritional
requirements of the dairy and beef industries. They
offer a superior balance of effective and digestible fiber,
more rumen-available starch and boast silage-specific
agronomics such as high total-plant yields and long
harvest windows. They need less time in the silo before
they can be fed and produce high-quality milk and beef
dependably and economically.
These hybrids have been bred to have more leaf area
per plant than conventional corn hybrids. For best
agronomics, starch yield and fiber digestibility, plant
at 28,000-30,000 plants per acre. To ensure the full
expression of floury kernels (25% on each ear), do not
interplant with any other corn hybrid. These hybrids
also make excellent high-moisture corn, but should not
be harvested for grain.

Low ear position on plant for increased fiber
digestibility and more usable leaves above the ear
The ear produces kernels that are large, flat, soft
and slow-drying so that they break easily into small
particles during silage chopping.
