VIKING DUAL-PURPOSE SILAGE HYBRIDS
What are Dual-Purpose Grain/Silage Hybrids? Simply put, these are grain hybrids that also produce excellent
quality and tonnage for silage. We test our hybrids, in the field and in the lab, for silage quantity and quality
against leading silage hybrid genetics at similar maturities. The hybrids on this page have demonstrated
consistent performance in silage data.
Why Dual-Purpose Grain/Silage Hybrids? Because grain has energy. The dual-purpose hybrids on these pages
are very high-yielding grain hybrids, so you are going to get a lot of grain in your silage, which equates to higher
energy. These hybrids have an optimal grain-to-stover ratio and have excellent standability compared to low-
lignin specialty silage hybrids.
