ORGANIC WINTER TRITICALE
ORGANIC FUNGICIDES
Organic NE426GT Winter Triticale
2014 was a tough year to grow small grain in many
areas of the Upper Midwest. The cooler temperatures
and above-average rainfall led to the development of
serious fungal diseases such as Crown Rust in oats
and Fusarium Head Blight (scab) in wheat and barley.
Fusarium Head Blight-infected grain can cause Vomitoxin, which can be fatal to livestock. There are some
products approved for organic crop production that
have activity against many of these fungal diseases.
110 bu/A, Arlington, WI!
• Excellent dual-purpose winter triticale that can be cut for
forage or harvested for grain
• High grain yields, low ergot
• Medium maturity
• Moderate straw strength
• Good winter hardiness
• Drill 100-120 lbs./acre, ½ to 1 in. deep

• Awnless forage triticale with excellent quality
• Economical choice for forage
• Should be cut or chopped before it heads out for
best forage quality
• Should be drilled ½ to 1½ in. deep
• Seed at 100-120 lbs./acre for maximum forage yield
SMALL GRAINS
One of our seed growers, Jonathan Olson of Cottonwood, Minnesota, had the following experience with
these products: Increased hard red spring wheat
yields by 5-6 bu/A. Increased wheat test weights by
0.1-0.4 lbs. Increased wheat grain protein by 0.2-0.5%
over untreated control strip.
