Keep this in mind when you go to your first yoga class:

1.Yoga gear

You want to be able to move freely, so wear clothing that is comfortable. Yoga is done barefoot. This is so you can grip the mat and not slide off. If you are uncomfortable barefoot, you can wear yoga socks. These socks have non-slip grip that allows you to stay on the mat.

What to bring along:

-Yoga mat – Most yoga studios provide yoga mats. However, if you feel uncomfortable with sharing a mat, you can bring your own. When buying a mat, look for one that is of quality and has some good traction.

-Water bottle – It is important to stay hydrated throughout the class.

-Towel – Yoga is a real workout and you may work up a sweat. Have a towel on hand just in case.

2.Eating before class

Students are advised not to eat an hour before class. Or two hours before class if it’s a heavy m Moving on a full stomach may leave you feeling uncomfortable and nauseous. Rather keep a snack in your bag for after class.

In a busy world, yoga gives you a chance to slow down. Every time you step on the mat, take the time to invest in self love.
