Multi-Craft Contractors helps you build a
stable career by offering on-the-job training.
For example, employees in the electrical and
mechanical divisions start at $13 an hour
as apprentices while working toward their
journeyman license, a four-year process that
involves working full time and taking evening
classes. For each semester completed, you’ll
receive a dollar an hour raise. After earning
a journeyman license you can make $22 an
hour and up.
hands and your mind,” explains Rucker.
“We need creative thinkers and planners
who can see the big picture.”
Most careers at Multi-Craft do not require
a college degree. The company sponsors
apprenticeship programs so you can continue
to grow in your career. The need for talented
young people who can learn a trade is in high
demand. To get a head start on those careers,
Nelson Adams, mechanical division manager,
recommends taking classes that focus on math-
ematics and computer-aided drafting, or CAD.
“If you have good math skills and understand
how CAD works, you’ll have more opportuni-
ties to continue to advance,” he explains.
Adams also says a career at Multi-Craft offers something not every
job can – a sense of satisfaction. “Being part of the Multi-Craft team
gives you an opportunity to see something grow from an idea into a
finished project,” he says.
Rick Barrows believes the company will keep growing. “We doubled
our number of employees over the last five years. That tremendous
growth shows the construction industry is thriving and we’ll continue to
expand as Northwest Arkansas grows.”
Multi-Craft Contractors offers tuition reim-
bursement for team members who pass their
classes each semester. “Some people go to
college for four years, get into a lot of debt, and end up with a job
that doesn’t pay as much as our employees earn,” says Hex Bisbee,
the company’s chief financial officer. “At Multi-Craft, you can make a
good living building something you can be proud off.”
The company believes in taking care of its employees and the com-
munity. That means offering team members full benefits including a
401(k) retirement savings plan, health, dental and vision insurance,
paid vacation, holiday pay and life insurance, and participating in
our communities.
