Boyce said learning a trade , like HVAC , can be a good opportunity for new graduates because there is a shortage of skilled workers , due to Baby Boomers retiring and fewer young workers entering the trades .
“ College isn ’ t for everyone ,” Boyce said . “ A lot of people go to college for four to five years and get a degree . They also usually end up with $ 20,000 to $ 30,000 in debt and fighting for a highly competitive $ 30,000 to $ 40,000 job that may have nothing to do with their degree .”
“ Or , you can enter the trades and start making money immediately . You can make a great living in HVAC , earning anywhere from $ 30,000 , $ 40,000 , or up to $ 100,000 a year while also receiving full health , dental , vision , and retirement benefits , which is something young people don ’ t think about but is very important . Enter the trades ,” Boyce added .
The company will continue to add more workers and keep growing . “ We would like to hire 10 to 20 tomorrow if we could find them ,” Boyce said . “ We are always looking to hire young people with drive and training them to be successful .”
