COOLING
The aim of the Energy Labelling
regulation is to provide end users
with easy to understand information
on product energy efficiency.
In addition, the European Energy
Labelling regulation classifies
products from G to A, according to
their efficiency. This pulls the market
towards more energy-efficient
products by improving consumer
information.

The new regulation EU 2015/1095 sets minimum energy
efficiency requirements for professional refrigeration equipment
including low temperature process chillers (leaving water
temperature -8°C) and very low temperature process chillers
(leaving water temperature -25°C).
According to the regulation, a process chiller is characterized by:
- An all year round operation
- A relatively constant cooling load profile with variation from 100%
to 80%

New energy efficiency metric : SEPR
The efficiency metric is called SEPR (Seasonal Energy
Performance Ratio).
The SEPR is a result of a weighted calculation of the energy
efficiency at every outdoor temperature for a whole year
operation, under an average climate and with a cooling load
profile varying from 100% to 80%.
