SAFETY TRAINING FOR CONSTRUCTION CONFINED SPACE ENTRY TRAINING The Confined Space Entry Training is intended to provide managers, foremen, competent persons, and workers with basic information regarding entry into confined spaces. Its purpose is to create an awareness of the hazards associated with confined space entry, to help workers understand the procedures that must be followed when entering confined spaces, and to provide managers with basic information necessary to establish a confined space entry program. This course will assist participants with the following: • Identify confined spaces • Demonstrate knowledge of confined space entry requirements • Identify confined space hazards • Set up a basic confined space entry program Target Audience: • Employees working on job sites where confined spaces exist • Construction employees who want to open their future job opportunities • Foremen and Superintendents Date: August 19 November 18 Time: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Instructor: Chris Malicki, OHST, CHST, COSS, Safety Manager and Service Supervisor AGC Member: $250 AGC Journeyman: $0 Non Member: $300 CONSTRUCTION HEALTH & SAFETY TECHNICIAN (CHST) PRE-TEST WORKSHOP The class time begins with organizational instructions being given followed by a two-hour self-paced Self Assessment exam, followed by the grading of that exam and a short critique of the results. Students are given individual instructions on study techniques and areas they would benefit studying based on their individual scoring on the exam. Learning objectives / outcomes: • To determine the strengths and weaknesses for a more effectively study for the CHST • To complete the application process and determine eligibility • To complete the Experience Form using the individual’s resume and a guide Requirements: Laptop computer, resume, thumbdrive, and TI-30XA calculator. Resource material provided: Span International CHST Self Study Workbook Volume II, BCSP Self Exam Prep Test. Target Audience: This workshop is designed for personnel preparing to take the Board of Certified Safety Professionals Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) examination. Review requirements and discuss exam questions addressing the areas to be covered by this exam and start the application process.
