GIVING back Build & Serve Charitable Alliance The Build and Serve Charitable Alliance is made up of construction contractors and industry professionals who are committed to giving back to our San Diego communities. Build and Serve members coordinate projects with many local charities throughout the year to enhance their outreach. Such projects include: AGC’s Annual Blood Drive with San Diego Blood Bank; Warm Clothes and Toiletry Drives benefiting Father Joe’s Villages / Toussaint Youth Villages and Bannister Family House; Back-to-School Backpack Drive for K-12 students at Monarch School; Team AGC as a major sponsor for the MCRD Bootcamp Challenge; partners on several construction- related projects with Make-A-Wish Foundation San Diego ® , and co-hosts AGC’s Annual Holiday Toy Drive benefiting children at Rady Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, and Polinsky Children’s Center. Additionally, during 2016, Build and Serve members took on a few unique projects, including the construction of a new outdoor covered patio for Mountain Shadows Community Homes in Escondido, therapy stairs/slide and a baseball court for two wish kids from Make-A-Wish Foundation San Diego ® , and members participated in the San Diego 9-11 Memorial Stair Climb raising $10,000 benefiting FirefighterAid. CO-CHAIRS AGC IN THE COMMUNITY AWARD 2016 brought San Diego national recognition with the honor of being awarded the AGC in the Community Award during AGC of America’s 2016 National Convention in San Antonio, Texas.
