Boosting Talents with Infrastructural Motivation

The Bukom Boxing Arena was officially opened by His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana on Tuesday November 15, 2016.

It is an Open-Air Stadium with a seating capacity of 4,000. The seats are terraced to a total of 16 levels. The facility has a VIP Lounge and a Press Box to cover sports events. A First-Aid Clinic, Changing Room, Rooms for officials and retail shops are all located below the terrace seating. The retail space face the two major roads. The stadium has been designed mainly for boxing and basketball competitions. Other sporting and social activities can also be held there. The arena floor because of its multiple use is constructed to allow the moveable games facilities and installations.

Sports Hall / Auditorium

It is a well-equipped facility for indoor sporting activities such as boxing, kick boxing, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, etc. It has mezzanine floor as a supplementary arrangement for flowing spectatorship. It has a combined spectatorship area for a maximum of 800 people.

Aerobic, Physiotherapy and Gym Block

It is a two storey facility with a Physiotherapy section. An Aerobics section, Gymnasium and a Clinic.

Conference Hall

The three-compartment single storey structure has a conference hall with capacity to seat 300, that is each compartment takes 100 people. There are also preparation rooms/ offices for related activities.

Swimming pool & Changing room

The swimming pool is an Olympic size 10 lane pool built to FINA standards. There are adequate changing rooms, washrooms, lockers and store rooms for swimmers. Spectators stand are also provided.

Restaurant

The Restaurant which is designed to depict a boxing ring is close to the swimming pool with an indoor Eatery which extends into an open area. It also has a well-equipped kitchen and changing room for workers.
