themselves. They are doing it because they see a potential in me; and that I am willing to work and do well and that I respect the sport.

ASM: Okay so, what are your expectations going in to Pyeongchang, South Korea in February? What are your realistic expectations?

Akwasi Frimpong: I love that you asked that, because I was actually thinking about that yesterday. I was like ‘hey when someone interviews me next and ask me what are my expectations, what am I going to say?’ most athletes are usually like “I’m going for gold!” … I am not going to say that.

My goal has always been Beijing 2022, that’s really where I tell myself that I want to be on the podium for Ghana and God willing I want to win the first Winter gold medal ever for the continent of Africa. No one in Africa has ever won a gold medal before at the Winter Olympics, and that has always been one of my dreams and goal.

I have a bigger mission in front of me and 2018 is just to experience things and learn. I am going to see where I am and plan from there for 4 years later.
