More competitions are coming up at the Bukom Boxing Arena and that will bring good business for stake holders in the fraternity.

Many promoters have shown interest in Ghana Boxing and are willing to stage more international bouts in the country, leading to world title showdowns.

Former Champion Azumah Nelson has gone into partnership with Heta Hema-Mann of Hemann Productions and they are producing quality bouts with a series of “Azumah Nelson Fight Nights”.

Sports TV Station, Kwese TV have also began their own runs known as Bukom Beat Down and had been impressive together with Kalakoda Promotions.

Box Office Sports Promotions has come up with big fights like Bukom Banku versus Ayitey Powers Parts 1 and 2 in Accra and Kumasi respectively. They have also organized Bukom Banku versus Samir Bastie, which was a sell out and very high-quality production.

The problem in the past had been lack of promotions, but with the construction of the Bukom Boxing Arena, more fight are coming up and very soon, Accra is going to be hosting major world title bouts.

General Secretary of the Ghana Boxing Authority, Patrick Johnson who was at the last WBC Convention says Ghana Boxing has an image and great reputation. He has called for more fights to awaken the interest in the upcoming stars.

Naa Darkuah Dodoo, Communications Director/PRO of the GBA thinks Ghana Boxing has great potential world beaters who must be given the chance to fight. She named George Ashie as her favorite boxer who will win a world title soon, but it all depends on the promoters and sponsors. She urged Corporate Ghana to support Boxing as it is evident that many Ghanaians love the sport.
