David Lekuta Rudisha – Country: Kenya Events: 400 Meters, 800 meters Personal Bests: 400 Meters – 45.13 seconds 800 meters – 1:40.91(Kenyan National and World Record) A soft spoken and quiet gentleman, David Rudisha the world record holder in the 800 meters is a phenomenal athlete with 7 Gold medals to his name. He wowed the world with his world record breaking performance at the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games. Recently hampered by injury David took a year off and came back in 2014 to put up some spectacular times. However he is being challenged by some of the most talented 800 meters runners of all time in Mohamed Aman of Ethiopia and Nijel Amos of Botswana. Will he retain dominance of his event going forward that remains to be seen. David Rudisha is etched in the minds of sports fans globally as a living African Sports Legend. At 26 he has a long way to go in his career and will along with his rivals (Mohamed Aman and Nijel Amos) entertain the world for years to come. 02. Dennis Kimetto – Country: Kenya Event: Marathon Personal Bests: Marathon – 2:02.57 (Kenyan/African/World Record) When asked what drives him at a Press Conference Dennis replied; "I think what really motivates me to be a fighter is the fact that I come from a humble background, I try to really make sure that I achieve my best so that I can assist my family." He is the first man to ever run a sub 2:03 Marathon which he did in September of 2014 at the Berlin Marathon when he ran a new world record of 2:02:57. With such a drive and a motivation to be a bread winner for his family Dennis Kimetto speaks to the heart and soul of every runner born in poverty and disadvantaged circumstances.
