Asisat Oshoala, Soccer - Nigeria
The young Nigerian football star stole the spotlight
at the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, where
she was not only the top goal scorer, but was hailed
as the player of the tournament. Oshoala’s upward
trajectory towards greatness went up a notch with
Super Falcons at the recently concluded 2015 FIFA
Women’s World Cup. Still only 21, she currently
plays for the Liverpool Ladies and it is rumored that
she has been moved to the Arsenal Ladies at the
time of publication of this issue. Asisat is on course
to become Africa’s finest female footballer. Watch
out for her.
Isabelle Sambou, Wrestling - Senegal
Isabelle is the best African woman on the wrestling
arena. She is a world champion in beach wrestling
after having endured several years at the foot of the
podium. She is an over achiever in a country where
women wrestling is greatly underfunded.
