African Hunter Published Books Guide to Nyati | Hunting the African Buffalo | Page 9
base, many, many people have been involved. However, Dave
Christensen’s photography has been invaluable in forming a
firm foundation on which to build - giving us the widest possible
selection of professional material with which to portray our
subject. The co-authors - who are acknowledged throughout the
text - have been generous in their participation, allowing us to
mould their work into the greater scheme of this book. To good
friends like Gordon and Glenn who have allowed us to participate
in countless hunting adventures, collecting material and sometimes
getting in the way. A special thank you to those who fearlessly
and constructively criticised our efforts at the various proofing
stages - always supplying valuable information - keeping the work
honest and accurate. Thank you to you all.
This is not simply a book on “killing” buffalo. It is about
hunting in the broader sense and it has been no small task including
those important facets which go to making an enjoyable hunt.
From the humerous stories on buffalo hunting, to the varied fact
files which appear throughout the text, to the animated buffalo
featured at the bottom of the pages (fan the p ages and watch it
rotate), the work has been designed to be entertaining as well as
educational. During those cold wintry nights when Africa and Nyati
seem so far off, the pages of our book will bring solace, teasing
the reader’s imagination as he flicks through its pages. For the
first time hunter to Africa - whether hunting buffalo or not - much
of the information will prepare the avid adventurer for the Dark
Continent... and hopefully feed a desire to one day hunt Nyati.
It is our sincere hope that you derive as much pleasure from
reading Nyati, as we did in putting it together.
