The Junction
South African architectural firm MDS Architecture has designed the newly
completed The Junction shopping centre in Accra, Ghana. The design of
the contemporary strip mall has considered the residential area in which it
is situated and features both outdoor seating areas and open internal mall
concepts.

the design concept developed
from a desire to make a
strong visual impact within
a constrained budget. “We
achieved this by adopting a
minimalist and contemporary
style,” explains McGillivray.
Construction of The Junction
was completed in a year. The shopping centre
opened in October 2014.
