An essential part of the design is flexibility. Throughout the design and build process
we changed and tweaked angles, consistency, thicknesses and details. For instance, the
thickness of the walls was reduced from 18 inches to 11 to save on the cement used; the
angle of the a-frame changed to allow for more headroom for the upper bedrooms; and the
orientation adjusted to the site specific prevailing wind and existing buildings.
