designs of the bedrooms were practical, and combined global hotel
design trends and standards with local market requirements. Cognisant
of the city’s tropical climatic conditions, typified by hot and humid
weather throughout much of the year, the refurbishment aimed for a
modern, light feel involving a complete redecoration and replacement
of furniture, drapes, lighting, amenities and the addition of new
timber-looking floors that better suits the city’s very humid conditions.
Additionally, all rooms were fitted with upgraded air-conditioning units
and the associated chilled water pipework and insulation were refurbished.
