African project Butterfly Aviary – U.A.E. Having completed the Butterfly Pavilion on Noor Island in the middle of the capital of the Arab Emirate Sharjah in December 2015, German design studio 3deluxe is now releasing first image material of another design element on Noor Island: the Butterfly Aviary. On the lagoon island, 3deluxe is currently designing a 2.5 hectare transmedia landscape park, interwoven with an ensemble of several themed pavilions and buildings. After the opening of the park in mid-December, further attractions will be added in the course of the coming weeks and months. The Butterfly Aviary is located at the centre of the Butterfly Pavilion, shaded by its defining golden roof. The polygonal architecture is an artificial eco-system, and its rainforest biotope – populated with countless butterflies – is housed inside a sealed climate skin.
