Collaborative façade design
Good design comes from close collaboration between designers, client
and contractor. The new curved façade of The MARC, defined by a
surface of over 5,000 gold and black triangles, is a visual example of
this approach. Arup provided specialised façade engineering services,
using a single parametric platform for geometry definition, automation
of fabrication information and envelope environmental analysis for the
new mixed-use development in Sandton, Johannesburg.
