EDITOR’S NOTE
Incredible structural and geometric
solutions with twisting contours
In this issue of African Design Magazine we
look at two completely different towers – the
PwC Tower corporate offices and the Lanseria
air traffic control tower. Typical of architecture
worldwide, the contrasts are immense.
In one instance, the dynamic is focused clearly
on ensuring that occupants are enveloped in a
very functional and comfortable environment.
In the other instance, there is a delicate
balance between creating an extremely
aesthetically pleasing exterior that combines
with the needs of its occupants internally.
Balance and flexibility are indeed the key
elements in any successful design project,
irrespective of their size. The end result
of an animated approach to design is a
structure that clearly ticks the boxes for all
stakeholders.
