TIME SQUARE MENLYN MAINE
has been paid to
even the smallest
elements, such as the
trellis pattern which
was derived from a
mathematical formula.
There is a rhythmic
change in the various
areas, as if one is
moving through time.
All elements, such
as the design and
selection of the gaming
tables, crockery,
cutlery and staff
uniforms were carefully
coordinated to ensure a consistent motif.
A number of features are worthy of attention,
including the casino’s globe bar. To enter the
casino one walks beneath a huge glass sphere.
Not surprisingly, this arresting structure
won an award for excellence in tubular steel
structures in 2017.
The ultra-deluxe hotel offers a range of
different room sizes catering for specific
needs of guests – whether they are there for
leisure, gaming or to stay over after seeing
a show. The upper level of the hotel, which
begins at the 14th floor, provides luxurious
living quarters and is equipped with its own
reception area and additional facilities. These
suites are separately and directly accessed via
a suspended cube, which begins at the same
level as the premier levels. The programme of
building associated with these elements called
for an individual design brief, with tall slender
steel columns providing the support for the
suspended cube. Each room in the hotel has
floor to ceiling windows in high-performance
vision glass, providing occupants with an
incredible view of the distant landscape.
