Hermann Kamte of HKA | Hermann Kamte & Associates believes that AZA has a real impact because of its collaborative nature . “ Having a space that has the possibility of impacting and transforming people , society and everyday life is highly beneficial .
The selected speakers come from all over the world and share their experiences around the important and urgent thematic on the shaping of society . It is one of the few intellectual platforms that really allow the meeting between practitioners and lovers of Architecture or the arts .”
He adds that we place a lot of importance on the context of the project because society is more and more inclined to become standardised . “ We do not need to look like others to exist . Teams often define the beauty of a city by a universal process , many say that Yaoundé for example will be a beautiful city if it was similar to Paris or western cities in general ; it ’ s a thought that undermines society in general .” He thinks it ’ s a dangerous approach for our cities . Each city must evolve with a different approach taking into account the specific aspects such as the human group or the culture that seem fundamental and define our humanity .
