Presently, Victoria Falls
accommodates 1781 rooms. Hotels
constitute 1125 of the rooms while
the balance are lodges and other
accommodation facilities.
The Mbano Manor Hotel will offer
eighteen luxurious standard suites,
and one Presidential villa nestled
within the natural beauty of the
surrounding teak forest.
“Nature took precedence in the
design of Mbano hotel. Hence,
buildings were carefully positioned
to ensure minimal disruption of
the original forest, dominated by
large ancient teak trees,” says Mati
Nyazema, a Zimbabwean-born global
tourism businesswoman, and the
driving force behind Mbano Manor
Hotel.
The Civil Aviation Authority of
Zimbabwe (CAAZ) is considering
proposals from prospective
investors who have expressed
interest to establish a solar
farm around the Victoria Falls
International Airport to power it by
solar energy and allow the excess
to be fed into the national grid. The
three proposed solar plants would
each generate about 100 MW,
feeding an additional 300MW into
the national grid.
