AFRICA Mosi-Oa-Tunya, “THE SMOKE THAT THUNDERS” Victoria Falls to revive Zimbabwe The revitalisation of this picturesque and breathtaking town will clearly bring it into the 21st century, while still preserving all of the splendour associated with this awe-inspiring tourist destination. While the transformation of Vic Falls and the promise of prosperity brought a sigh of relief, the announcement of community relocation by end of this year to accommodate the Betoka Gorge Hydro-electric Power Project has not been well accepted. Steeped in history Scottish explorer David Livingstone, hailed as one of the most enigmatic explorers of all time, was the first European ever to lay eyes on Victoria Falls.
