Another challenge was in achieving a
contextual street relation, as the buildings are
separated with a transparent fence. The client
acknowledged the importance of street frontage
and therefore Building A at the main entrance
to the site has no fence separation between
the sidewalk and the building. This concession
resulted in the adoption of additional security
measures within the ground floor design
of Building A to ensure a secure and safe
environment, while still maintaining the building
as part of the sidewalk.
The Central Park Building, which houses the
restaurant and conference facility, is seen as the
heart of the project and a key selling point of the
development. Ensuring its successful integration
into the sloped landscaping and having the roof
of the Central Park Building as the fifth elevation
was paramount to the design consideration. See
Figures 1 and 2 for the architectural renderings
depicting the central park theme.
