“Buildings are deeply emotive structures which form our psyche. People think they're just things
they maneuver through, but the makeup of a person is inuenced by the nature of spaces." - Sir
David Adjaye
Most of these outstanding homes were designed by Adjaye early on in his career and engage
sensitively with their complex locations while exploring all their architectural possibilities.
They are a testimony to how the architect grabbed at the opportunity to experiment with
forms, natural light materials, gaining experience which he has now applied to his current
works.
The inventiveness of Sir David Adjaye's projects are presented in this book with a wealth of
visual documentation, particularly using pictures taken by great photographers like Nic
Lehoux, Ed Reeves and James Wang. “Living Spaces” is a must read to get to grasp the
magnitude of the architectural work designed by this fine British Ghanaian architect.
