LIBYANS
resh out of the Fascism piece, ADM looks
at modern Libya and the strong influence
of Roman based firm Carlo Berarducci
Architecture. In the 1930's, Italian Fascists
colonised Libya by re-landscaping the
county into a typical Roman province.
Today, Italian based architects such as Carlo
Berarducci are striving to reverse the imprint of
Fascism and realigning the architectural culture
of Libya with that of Libyans.
The design approach of Carlo Berarducci
Architecture avoids the search for a defined and
repeated formal identity. Libyan based projects
start with a study of the site, needs and
expectations of the client. Essentially the art is in
building an environment where Libyan people
feel comfortable.

also obtained the title of Doctor of Philosophy
(PHD) in theories of architecture with a thesis
entitled "art and architecture, from the raw
material to the miracle, the relationships
between the languages of art and architecture".
