5.Parents Should Read the Bible Through Each Year. Parents should become more and more familiar with its teachings. We also need to read the Word to know more about God and His ways. Knowing God more should be the goal of every parent, grandparent and child. We need to know the gospel of Jesus Christ, be able to explain it Biblically to our children, and emphasize the need for repentance and faith..

6.As parents, we need to set an example of good character and integrity so that our children may see our faith being lived out in an honorable way. We need to communicate truth with the love of God.

RAISING KIDS GOD’S WAY

As Christian parents and grandparents we want to see our children grow up loving God and loving and being obedient to His Word. There is now, and there has always been, a battle for the lives of our children. The enemy of our soul hates family and comes to kill, steal, and destroy in every way he can. There is conflict in training children because of conflicting world views, and conflicting ideas on what the Bible actually has to say on this topic.

Before we discuss a few points regarding the training our children, we must have a clear picture of how we are to view the Bible.

How Must We View The Bible?

1.The Bible Must Be Taken as the Only Source for Absolute Truth. By that, I mean that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. Each verse and the principles and instructions given within the pages of this amazing book give us the truth we need, illuminated by the Holy Spirit, to live lives that honor God and impact the next generation.

2.We Must Believe that “all scripture is given by God and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness that the man (or woman) of God might be perfect and thoroughly furnished unto all good works. “ II Tim. 3:16-17.

3.We Need to Know What the Bible Says About Itself. For example, “…no prophesy of the scripture is of any private interpretation, for the prophesy came in old time by the will of man, but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” II Peter 1:20-21

4.We Should Take the Creation Account in Genesis Literally. God created the earth in six, twenty-four hour days and rested on the seventh. We should be firm in believing the Genesis account of Noah and the great flood. There are foundational passages in the scriptures regarding the issues of Creation vs Evolution that we need to be familiar with and teach to our children.
