International Conference on Research and Technology Development for Sustainable Water Resources Management (REDWARM) Environment and Development (UNCED). The United Nations General Assembly responded by designating 22 March 1993 as the first World Water Day. Dates: 04 December 2016 to 06 December 2016 Location: Cairo, Egypt Each year, World Water Day highlights a specific aspect of freshwater. In 2015, World Water Day has the theme “Water and Sustainable Development”. National Water Research Center (NWRC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation (MWRI) in Egypt and Utah State University (USU) in USA is organizing an international conference titled “Research and Technology Development for Sustainable Water Resources Management”. In 2016, the theme is “Water and Jobs,” in 2017 “Wastewater” and in 2018 “Nature-based Solutions for Water”. This international conference is organized to provide a forum for researchers, academicians, and practitioners engaged in research, applied water technology, and water resources planning and management to share knowledge, experience, good practices, and research results. Under the main theme “Water and Peace”, the 4th Istanbul International Water Forum will be devoted to the impacts of the latest regional political setting on water issues. The Forum will put a spotlight on the two-sided relationship between immigration and water services. The 4th Istanbul International Water Forum will bring together participants from the region and the international water community: academics, research institutions, international organizations, governments, policy makers and NGOs. This day marks the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands on 2 February 1971, in the Iranian city of Ramsar on the shores of the Caspian Sea. Since 1997, the Ramsar Secretariat has provided outreach materials to help raise public awareness about the importance and value of wetlands. The Standing Committee of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands approved Wetlands for Disaster Risk Reduction as the theme for World Wetlands Day in 2017, during its 52nd meeting held in Gland, Switzerland from 13 – 17 June 2016. This theme is selected to raise awareness and to highlight the vital roles of healthy wetlands in reducing the impacts of extreme events such as floods, droughts and cyclones on communities, and in helping to build resilience World Water Day 2017 Wednesday, March 22 World Water Day is held annually on 22 March as a means of focusing attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. An international day to celebrate freshwater was recommended at the 1992 United Nations Conference on 4th Istanbul International Water Forum Dates: 10 May 2017 to 11 May 2017 Location : Istanbul, Turkey Event’s contact e-mail : [email protected] Organized by: Turkish Water Institute (SUEN) website: http://www.suen.gov.tr International Symposium on Health-Related Water Microbiology: 15-19 May, 2017 The 19th International Symposium on Health-Related Water Microbiology is organized by the International Water Society (IWA) Specialist Group on Health-Related Water Microbiology Water Microbiology 2017 (HRWM) biennially. In 2017, the Symposium will run concurrently with the UNC Water Microbiology Conference to create a forum for researchers and practitioners focused on microbiology and public health to come together around the intersection of the two. The Conferences will be held in Chapel Hill. The Conferences will blend interactive workshops with scientific symposia and poster socials, offering participants a variety of opportunities to exchange ideas, debate challenging topics and explore potential collaborations. The focus will be on water microbiology from watershed to human exposure including current concerns in recreational waters, shellfish harvesting waters, emerging technologies and quantitative tools.
