Ebele Okeke wins WSSCC Steering Committee
election for Global Seat
WSSCC is pleased to
announce that the winner
of the WSSCC Steering
Committee elections for the
Global Seat with effect April
2016 is Engineer Ebele Okeke.
Eng.Ms Okeke welcomed her
new role as WSSCC Steering
Committee member by
thanking all voters: “I want
Eng, Ebele Okeke to use this opportunity to
thank you for the confidence
invested in me through your votes. I am therefore looking
forward to helping support the goals of the WSSCC in
impacting lives in communities around the world.”
Former Steering Committee member Dr. Dennis Mwanza
congratulated Ms Okeke by emphasizing the importance
of her role as a dedicated WASH ambassador in Nigeria
and her previous work with WSSCC: “While losing is not
the best of news, I am pleased that we have a woman,
Ebele Okeke joining the Steering Committee, especially
someone who has been involved with WSSCC for a long
time (I think even longer than myself). It also is good news
that we now have two elected women on the Committee
which is good progress and the Chairperson continues to
be a woman.

transport on the hippy trail to India and Nepal, and ended
up living in a commune in Australia. She didn’t come back
to England for 24 years.
During that time she made rapid progress in public service
jobs, developed homecare services in New South Wales
and worked for Oxfam, Save the Children and ActionAid
in Mozambique
