with leaders of a number of environment and sustainable
development NGOs to discuss and exchange views
on major issues affecting the global environment and
sustainability agenda.
On June 21, Britton toured the Gisozi genocide memorial
site where she lay a wreath on the mass graves of the
1994 genocide during which approximately one million
Rwandans were killed.

This meeting was an opportunity for those working
toward a more sustainable, environmentally friendly future
to come together and discuss how best to contribute
towards achieving tangible results with respect to the
sustainable development agenda. This was also an
occasion to hear the ideas and insights of actors who are
playing and will play a crucial role as we approach key
junctures on the path toward a future of environmentally
sustainable development.
