fact , 68 % find it easier to track their expenses and manage their finances when they are printed on paper . The full report and U . S . findings is available at http :// twosidesna . org / Survey2017 .
As part of its campaign , Two Sides also notes that it is false to associate paper with deforestation in North America . Deforestation is defined by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation as the conversion of forests to another land use or a permanent loss of forest cover . The UN definition specifically excludes sustainably managed forests where the forest is expected to regenerate naturally or via tree planting , as in North American managed forestlands .
Environmental claims cannot be vague and unsubstantiated ― they must be specific , verifiable and based on credible facts . ' Our experience to date is that many companies are so focused on reducing costs that they are ignoring marketing rules , the needs of their customers , and the environmental and social impacts of switching from paper to digital ,' said Riebel . www . za . twosides . info

Reveal Inks Produced For Interactive Consumer Experience
The result of a collaboration between Crown Bevcan Europe & Middle East and Chromatic Technologies Inc ., Reveal inks allow graphics to change to reveal specific imagery and messaging during consumption .
In delivering an interactive experience to consumers before , during and after consumption ,
Coca-Cola has rolled out cans of Coke , Coke Zero , Fanta and Sprite in Lithuania , Latvia and Estonia featuring Reveal temperature sensitive inks .
Two thermochromic inks appear at the same time when the can is cold , but as the cold product is consumed , one ink disappears . This technology provides one ambient ‘ original ’ image , one ‘ cold ’ image and as the consumer drinks the contents of the can , a third image appears , offering a vehicle to hide a message .
Coca-Cola featured four specific messages , one per brand , to engage with its customers in a fun , unique manner . Cans are decorated to include either a person or cartoon-style animal , from which a speech bubble emanates to hold the thermochromic messaging that appears when the can is chilled . An interactive quick response ( QR ) code beneath the image links to exclusive video content , driving traffic to the brand ’ s website .
The application represents the first commercial use of Reveal inks . www . ctiinks . com

quality of their work in the corrugated cardboard category .
‘ Before THQ technology was invented , printing professionals using flexography couldn ’ t reproduce an image ’ s full richness and emotion on a product package . The colour range was restrained and ordinary printing on corrugated cardboard was impossible due to fluting . Reproducing a motif in colour necessarily meant reducing quality . THQ has changed all of that ,’ said Didier Guenu , founder of Graphilabel .
BOBST has partnered with Graphilabel since 2015 and holds exclusive rights to this process for corrugated cardboard . Under the name BOBST THQ FlexoCloud , BOBST markets a flexographic post-print solution devoted to corrugated cardboard and available on a wide range of the brand ’ s new fl exographic post-print machines .
BOBST THQ FlexoCloud technology is opening fl exography to markets previously restricted to offset and photogravure . The rendering can reach very high definition far greater than 350 lines per centimetre , and the cheaper tools associated with the flexographic process allow very competitive production costs for short and medium runs . BOBST fl exographic machines racked up a remarkable record of achievement . Of the six awards presented for printing on corrugated cardboard , four were awarded to BOBST customers . www . bobst . com
Tonejet Provides Digitally Printed Cans For Television Series
Tonejet recently produced some beverage cans for television series Black Mirror .
Production companies use replica beverage cans a lot , and often these will be generic cola or pop cans but in certain cases there will be specific packaging requirements to create a ‘ real world ’ on screen .
Usually , such cans are produced using pressure sensitive or shrink sleeve labels , which can give a less than satisfactory result ― often looking very much like a sticker placed on a can . For the production team , this can mean extra work for fi lming . With digitally printed ‘ real ’ cans , as provided by Tonejet , such problems are removed and not only that , in the true nature of film and TV , the cans can be reproduced in small quantities easily for re-takes . www . tonejet . com
