and highlighted that members of the Advertising
Standards Board are community members and
independent of the advertising industry. The
advertisement was tweeted along with a link to
the ASB website and generated a total of 13,228
impressions over six days. The initiative will be
further developed during 2016.
The ASB website was redeveloped in 2015,
providing a fresh, dynamic and easy to use online
presence. The site was structured more effectively
and was redesigned making access to information
easier and quicker.
The ASB has enhanced its social media presence
and uses these tools to better engage with
the community.
A blog is used to highlight current issues and
create greater engagement with the community
and advertisers. In the six months between the
creation of the new website and blog format in
July 2015 and the end of the year, there were just
over 5,400 visits to the blog from 4,025 unique
users. The most viewed blog post was ‘2015
most complained about ads - so far’ which had
1,747 views from 1,274 users. In 2015 the ASB
published seven blog posts which generated 39
comments from community members.

The 2014 community awareness campaign,
promoting the message that the members of the
Advertising Standards Board are independent
members of the community, was continued
into 2015.
The ASB has created a Twitter account to engage
with social media users on this dynamic platform.
