How do people complain?
The number of people choosing to lodge their
complaints through the online system in 2013
continued to be the most popular option, with
89.6 per cent of submissions, however this has
fallen from 93.7 per cent in 2012. The drop is due
to an increase in postal submissions, from 6.3 per
cent in 2012 to 10.2 per cent in 2013.

The majority of postal submissions are
complaint referrals from television stations,
which are not submitted through ASB’s online
complaints system.
In 2013, 0.14 per cent of complaints were received
by fax, a slight increase from 0.01 per cent
in 2013.
