Alaska
This state is great for a summer fishing trip be-
cause of its unique diversity and its gorgeous
weather right now. Fishing in the winter here
is just plain impossible, at least for a trip like
this, so it’s best to head out soon if your inter-
est has peaked. Get out on the Kobuk River.
This river offers lake trout, arctic char, northern
pike, sheefish, and more. Sheefish are much
bigger than the other fish listed here, so if you
happen to run across one biting your line and
you’re not prepared, well then, good luck.
Sheefish are similar to the highly sought after
halibut, only smaller. Sheefish will fight to the
death, and it is going to take some serious
elbow grease to reel them in, but what’s better
than fighting an uncommon trophy fish on an
Alaskan river in the middle of summertime?
Don’t worry, we’ll wait…
