There are four major “what ifs” that most preppers consider
to be possible threats to humanity. The first is the complex
possibility of a medical emergency, also known as “a zombie
apocalypse.” While mainstream media hones in on the horrific elements of such a disease, making this reason for prepping
a core theme, there are logical debates of a possible outbreak.
Not necessarily of this particular avenue, but rather of any
unknown plague, fever, or infection that may not allow civilization to retain its general immunity.
In other words, scholars argue that history repeats itself (i.e.
The Black Death), that “we don’t always have an answer,” and
that we need to continue to develop strategies for obtaining
any and all solutions in a critical medical state of emergency,
even if such an event never presents itself.
