As deer season approaches, Knox County should be on your list of places to consider
traveling. Knox County is famous for whitetail deer hunting. With over 5,000 acres of
prime managed land waiting for clients to take a Boone & Crocket or Pope & Young
buck, Whitetail Action Outfitters sets up memorable deer hunting adventures.
Galesburg also offers bike paths for professional and leisure riders. Jump on Lake
Storey Trail System, a 5-mile, professional grade dirt-bike trail. The trail system is
made up of various single track loops, connected at times by paved bike paths or
open grass sections. The trail is open year round and is sure to challenge the most
skilled bikers. You can also take it easy with riding in-town. Bike downtown to see
historic sites like the Lincoln-Douglas Debate Site, the Carl Sandburg Home, and the
Galesburg Railroad Museum, or hit the county roads.
If you’re looking for a great place to play golf this fall, Bunker Links Golf Course offers
an enjoyable 18-hole course. With water features and hilly terrain, every skill level will
have fun and be challenged; not to mention enjoy a good view. Enjoy the course,
