There they conducted a CT-Scan and the results revealed a mass on the right frontal portion of his brain. They then transported him to the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Once there, they met with the doctors who stated, we have some serious decisions to make, and time is of the essence. At that moment, the fun loving cut up, faced life in an entirely new light. Life just got Real!
Surgery was the option that the doctors felt was the most plausible. Potential negative side effects from doing the surgery included paralysis, loss of motor skills and even death. After much prayer and consultation, as a family (Karen, Kendra and their son Kiel) made the decision to proceed with surgery. Feeling God was involved and would remain involved to the end.
The Medical professionals call it a miracle!
Allyn underwent two surgeries, after the doctors found an additional mass in another part of his brain. The first surgery was performed on June 9th and the second on June 11th. The surgeon was able to remove 99% of the tumors. Big Pep is presently undergoing Radiation and Chemotherapy treatment to ensure that it doesn't return. There is no loss of motor skills and no balance issues. There are no signs of any of the potential side effects. Allyn has run in three 5-K races since his release from the hospital on June 13th.
All medical prfessionals that attended to Allyn call his recovery a miracle. "Jesus is the source of these miracles!" Allyn testifies frequently.
