For nearly thirteen years,

KP Westmoreland had been speaking to audiences at festivals, conferences and camps. He had even successfully produced an award winning TV pilot and hosted a weekly radio program.

But something happened.

Something he never saw coming.

You see, there are potential dangers that come along in life, no matter who you are or what you do.

It doesn't matter if you are in business, athletics or ministry. It doesn't matter what skin color you have, what gender you are or where you call home. It doesn't matter if you have plenty or are in need.

And there is one danger that seems so innocent, yet can tear apart a life from within. A danger so invisible to most. That is, until its weight is bringing a person (and their life) crashing to the floor. This invisible danger is PRIDE.

A respected figure in ministry circles and frequently invited guest speaker to national and international gatherings. KP was on his way to some form of ministry recognition and success.

But then it all fell apart.

After watching his moms death, his marriage go through divorce and his ministry suffer from accusations, gossip and the disassociation of many former friends, KP sought refuse in a whiskey bottle and isolated himself, as he watched his once vibrant life and ministry seemingly fall off of everyones radar and interest.

But what God has done between then and now is nothing short of miraculous. With the love of friends, family and an angel God sent into his life (at the worst point of his life), KP was able to find forgiveness, face his failures and allow God to take him deeper into a simple relationship with Jesus, away from the demands of ministry life.

Seven years have passed and KP finds himself walking through doors God is opening with a Renewed mind, Redeemed life, Refocused vision and Refueled passion, And God is using KP in powerful ways.

Now, KP keeps a close watch on the dangers that try to intrude upon his life. He even has established a discipline of having a trusted friend pray for him "after" he speaks.

PRIDE COMES BEFORE

THE FALL

KP & Susan are not only best friends, mom & dad, to thier five children and husband and wife. They are also a ministry team that God is using to speak into the lives of others.

The angel that God brought into KP's life is now his wife. But more than that, she's mom to their five children, his best friend and ministry partner and faithful supporter.

"In the midst of ministry success, I unknowingly allowed myself to be consumed with pride. It seemed perfectly innocent to talk about all God was doing through me. But my focus wasn't on God, it was on me."
