How to enrol
Enrolments are welcome from
Monday 3rd December 2018
YOU CAN ENROL:
• By telephone: You can book your place on any
of the courses by phoning the Adult Education
Team on 01606 810025 and making a credit
or debit card booking.
• In person: The office is open from 10.00am
to 3.00pm from Monday to Friday. Please note
that we will be closed on Fridays during College
holidays. Payments must be received at the
time of enrolment. College will be closed for
Christmas from 21st December 2018 until
7th January 2019.
• By post: Enrolment forms can be obtained via
our website www.sjd.ac.uk or by telephoning the
Adult Education Office: 01606 810025. Please
complete and return to the adult department
with a cheque – please bear in mind that places
are not always available by the time we receive
your cheque.

Course fees for short courses: (14 weeks or less)
must be paid in full at the time of enrolment –
you can pay either in person, by telephone or post,
using cash, cheque, credit or debit card (excluding
American Express and Diners Club)
A non-refundable administration fee of £20 per
course is incorporated into all fees and is charged
to all part-time students, including those who qualify
for full remission of tuition fees.
Courses with fewer than the relevant minimum
number of students may, at the discretion of the
College, have the option of continuing on payment
of a supplementary fee.
Sir John Deane’s cannot guarantee that the courses
listed in this prospectus will run, or that they will
necessarily be repeated in future programmes.
Fee remission:
• If you are in receipt of ESA you may be entitled
to full or partial remission of tuition fees on
some courses (evidence is required at enrolment).
Further details can be obtained from the Adult
Education Department. Fees may be subject to change because of
government funding reviews, which can happen
at any time, or because of price changes made
by awarding bodies. Current fees will always be
confirmed at enrolment and updated here on our
website as soon as we are aware of any changes.
• T
here is no fee remission on dance, exercise,
music, singing or Saturday classes. No Smoking: The entire College is a no-smoking
area and therefore smoking is forbidden anywhere
on the College site, including the Leisure Centre.
Students and tutors who need to smoke should do
so off the College site without causing a nuisance
to members of the public or to nearby residents and
businesses.
Refunds: If we have to cancel a course because of
low enrolment, a full refund will be given to students
who have pre-enrolled.
Refunds cannot be given if you withdraw within
2 weeks of the start of any course or once the
course has started.
SPOTLIGHT on NEW Courses
Living Well:
Mind-Body-Awareness For Health & Wellbeing
This will run over two Saturdays and will have an emphasis on mindful
living to help us to live well, move well, age well and stay as healthy
as possible for as long as possible. It will combine ideas from the
Alexander Technique and mindfulness-based approaches.
Introduction to Counselling
Saturday 26/01/19 9.45am– 3.45pm
& Saturday 09/02/19 9.45am – 3.45pm
Price: £80.00 for both days The Introduction to Counselling course, will give you a spotlight into
the profession, the skills that are needed within a counselling role and
a general exploration around the world of counselling and personal
development. This course will provide you with a basic requirement of
the skills used within counselling settings and the personal development
and engagement that is needed when undertaking a course within
counselling, and working within the wider profession.
Logic X for Beginners Monday 14/01/19 6.30 – 8.30pm for 8 weeks
Price: £64.00
Logic X is one of the industry standard software in music creation. This
course will show you how to make a music composition from start to finish!
Learn to use software instruments, utilise MIDI and audio tools and learn
how to create a mix. This is a practical course, you don’t need to know how
to read music, though a creative ear with music will come in handy!
This course will run over FOUR Saturdays.
Saturdays 26/01/19, 09/02/19, 09/03/19 & 23/03/19 10.00am – 2.30pm
Price: £116.00 includes attendance at all 4 days

Celebration Crafts

you design a theme and show you how to make personalised decor
features and embellishments at a fraction of the cost.
