SOUTH WEST, BUSSELTON AGENT PROFILE INTRODUCING CHRIS HILLS With his commitment to good customer service and his love of helping people, Chris Hills has built a successful real estate career, but it wasn’t his original choice. Chris spent 23 years working for the Commonwealth Bank and it was their desire to transfer him away from Busselton that led to his resignation and a new career path. “I was originally from Perth, and first moved to the South West in 1974. I left in 1977, married a Busselton lady in 1979 and we moved back with the family in 1988 following a few years on the country circuit with the bank. “In 1993 they wanted to send me to another branch but we didn’t want to leave the area. So I resigned, and was asked to consider working in real estate by some local agents. The rest is history.” The years at the bank were of great benefit to Chris in his new career. “We did a lot of training and there was strong focus on customer service, which is very important in real estate. You need to have a good relationship with your clients. Whether they are buying selling or investing they are putting a lot of trust in you and you need to be committed to them. “My finance background has also been useful as it lets me provide my clients with a range of options to suit their situation. Chris has three children and two grandsons. When his sons were growing up he coached junior football and was President of the Rovers Football Club for 9 years. He is currently involved in veterans cricket and is also a member of the Hash House Harriers - he started the Busselton Club in 1989. “There is plenty to do in Busselton. For sports enthusiasts like myself there is plenty available from under 6 right up to veterans, we have many wineries close by, there is surfing and fishing and the fabulous rural lifestyle. “Busselton has been a great place to live and work. The property market has probably gone through the toughest patch I’ve seen in my time here, but it is recovering. There is more confidence out there, but people are still very price conscious and it is important to set a realistic price when you sell. “The area is constantly growing with about five families moving into Busselton each week. In 1988 there were 11,000 people here, now there are nearly 30,000. The town is developing and improving all the time and improvements to transport such as the Freeway extension make the area even more accessible. There’s nowhere else I’d rather be.” CHRIS HILLS m: 0418 671 253 e: [email protected] ACTON SOUTH WEST, BUSSELTON STREET, BUSSELTON busselton PH: (08) 9754 9200 ACTON SW 30 QUEEN 30 queen street, 6280 PH: 08 9754 9200 F: 08 9754 4300 WWW.ACTON.COM.AU
